MALI's participation in the VOLARTE project can be summarized as follows:
In recent years, the museum has achieved notable internationalization. However, this recognition has mainly been at the institutional level. We see the need to enter the imagination of a broader regional and international audience — to get on the radar of people who are traveling and exploring.
We do not merely wish to showcase the museum's name or visual identity as a physical space. We don't want a "Visit MALI" poster and leave it at that. We want to exhibit pieces capable of attracting the attention of an international audience who might not have considered us before, but who could be inspired to visit the museum in Lima after encountering something unexpected and captivating — something that surprises them. We want to present the many faces of MALI, the identities that populate the history of our country and region.
3. We aim to become a tourist destination. We want to be the must-visit museum in Lima. It should be unthinkable to visit Lima without visiting MALI.
