Malba is a dynamic and participatory cultural space that presents temporary exhibitions of various kinds (often in collaboration with other museums from around the world, international collections and related foundations), as well as exhibitions of contemporary Argentine and Latin American art. It also has an important film program and a film archive that grows every month through the acquisition and rescue of important films from the history of cinema. The Museum also has a literary section, through which it organizes meetings with writers, courses, seminars, literary talks and book presentations.
The Educational and Cultural Action Area includes programs for children, guided tours and various activities carried out in collaboration with civil society organizations, with the aim of offering all sectors of the community the opportunity to enjoy, study and learn about some of the most important artists and artistic movements of the last century. The Museum's mission is: "To co-create a plural, inclusive and participatory space that promotes the affective and cognitive relationship of the public with art and with Latin America". To this end, the central objective of the museum is to collect, preserve, research and disseminate Latin American art from the beginning of the 20th century to the present.
