The mission of the Gold Museum of the Banco de la República is to preserve, research, catalog, and promote its archaeological collections of gold and silver artifacts, ceramics, lithics, and other materials as cultural heritage for present and future generations of Colombians.

Its aim is to strengthen Colombian cultural identity through enjoyment, learning, and inspiration.

This mission is carried out at its headquarters in Bogotá, in six regional Gold Museums, and through traveling exhibitions.
